RMG Announces New Charity Initiative with Isabel Hospice
Property management specialist Residential Management Group has announced a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative that will support Isabel Hospice (www.isabelhospice.org.uk) during 2012, and beyond.
Clare Corbett (far right), Operations Director at RMG’s Hoddesdon office explains: “As a growing division of RMG, we felt that pledging our allegiance to one, local charity would help to create an engaging, thriving and strategically effective CSR programme which will ultimately strengthen staff development, brand recognition and future growth.
“Isabel Hospice is such a worthy cause. Its services are provided free of charge, but only about one third of its running costs are covered by government funding which means they need to raise £3million per year from charitable sources.
Clare concludes: “We plan to donate in many ways including sponsorship, fundraising, recycling schemes, gifts in kind and payroll giving. Staff will also be offered time out of the working day to help out within the hospice’s warehouse operation. It is a truly remarkable organisation that deserves our support.”
Money raised from regular dress down days will be donated to Isabel Hospice. Other fundraising events will be held throughout the year including pub quiz nights, Olympic sports events and jubilee celebrations.
Currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, Isabel Hospice has been providing free care and support for patients and their families in eastern Hertfordshire since 1982 and each year they look after more than 3,500 people living with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses.
The philosophy of the Hospice has always been to affirm the uniqueness of the individual and to focus on the highest possible quality of life for each patient in its care. The Hospice does this through the work of its team of Community Nurse Specialists who visit patients in their own homes, a variety of day care services spread across eastern Hertfordshire, a family support and bereavement team, a 16-bed in-patient hospice, 24-hour advice line, benefits help and chaplaincy.
A fully trained team of volunteers support the specialist medical staff in providing a warm, caring environment for patients and their families.
Deputy Chief Executive Helen Dodd (centre) adds: “Isabel Hospice is immensely grateful to all it supporters who contribute to the £3million it takes to maintain our vital services each year. Together we can make a real difference to the lives of local people and their families. We are delighted to be working with RMG and are grateful for their commitment to our charity throughout 2012.”
