Community Regeneration
RMG offers a unique approach to social and economic regeneration. We provide the link between innovative and creative building design, and genuine community engagement.
Our specialist community regeneration team works with residents and our housing managment teams to tackle the social and economic barriers to regenerating deprived neighbourhoods and communities.
Our experience of community regeneration services includes:
- Establishing and managing life long learning ICT training centres on behalf of Local Authorities in conjunction with our partner Vital Regeneration
- Tackling issues of crime and anti social behaviour by developing and participating in multi agency partnerships
- Support for black minority ethnic community groups
- Participation in community health promotion campaigns
- Working with socially and economically disadvantaged groups, particularly in creation of local employment initiatives
The development of our community regeneration skills and networks add considerable value to our core housing management activities. This demonstrates our commitment to working with deprived communities and neighbourhoods to improve the quality of life for local people.
Developing Comprehensive Regeneration Strategies
We have a long track record of introducing and working on regeneration schemes, including:
- Supporting local authorities in developing regeneration strategies
- Supporting residents to understand all the options that are available to them
- Establishing systems of information sharing between the local authority, residents and the developer/contractor
- Minimising disturbances for residents by adopting a 'one move' policy when at all possible
- Ensuring vulnerable residents are kept fully updated through using trained Tenant Liaison Officers
